Rix Optics Storm S3R LRF Thermal Scope
Lightweight 384 Thermal with Built-In Laser Rangefinder & Ballistics
The Rix Optics Storm S3R LRF Thermal is a compact, lightweight thermal scope built for hunters who prioritize mobility, speed, and real-world performance. Designed as a dual-purpose thermal for handheld scanning and rifle-mounted use, the Storm S3R is ideal for predator and hog hunters running practical night-hunting distances rather than extreme long-range setups.
Weighing just 1.0 pound, the Storm S3R is one of the most maneuverable thermal scopes available with a built-in laser rangefinder and onboard ballistic calculator.
384 Thermal Sensor Tuned for Real Hunting Distances
At the core of the Storm S3R is a 384×288 VOx uncooled thermal sensor with 12-micron pixel pitch and NETD under 25 mK, delivering clean contrast and reliable target separation in humidity, fog, and changing weather conditions.
Paired with a 35mm F/1.0 germanium objective lens, the Storm S3R offers a practical balance of field of view and image detail without slowing you down.
-
3.5× base magnification
-
Up to 14× digital zoom
-
Optimized for realistic shots from 0–350 yards
This makes the Storm S3R an excellent option for hunters who want accuracy where most shots actually occur.
Built-In Laser Rangefinder & Ballistic Calculator
The Storm S3R features an integrated compact laser rangefinder capable of ranging targets out to 1,312 yards with ±1 yard accuracy. Ranging data works alongside the onboard ballistic calculator, helping shooters make more informed holds when distance matters.
The adjustable Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode allows independent magnification of the aiming window while maintaining full situational awareness—especially useful when zeroing or engaging smaller targets.
Compact, Intuitive & Built for the Field
The Storm S3R is designed to be fast and simple to operate in real hunting conditions. An enlarged four-directional button layout makes adjustments easy even with gloves, with direct on-screen feedback for every input.
Power comes from a replaceable 18650 rechargeable battery with a 90-degree quick-detach battery cap for fast swaps in the dark. The unit also supports USB-C external power for extended runtime.
Additional field-ready features include:
-
Recoil-activated photo and video recording
